About Us:
A Voice For Autism was created by Jaime Langdon in late 2006. It was initially set up as a Support Group for parents searching for answers and resources for their children. As time proceeded on it was found that there there was a great and dire need for resources, answers and support. Jaime Langdon President of N.A.A Of Maryland-Eastern Shore has a 5 year old daughter Jazmyn with Autism, Apraxia, and Severe Sensory Issues. Her and her husband Joshua have had a tough journey and still have managed to stay as positive as they can. Through going through the things they have been through they have learned how hard you have to fight to get what you need for your child. They have learned that you can't take no for an answer and do not back down when it comes to the best interest of the child. Through these experiences they have learned that there are a lot of good resources out there and that there is help available to families.
Another big issue is that many parents in this area have to travel at least an hour up and back to get most therapy services and diagnostic testing and even now these facilities have waiting lists and high case loads.
Our Organization attends on changing this issue, the need is desperate and way over due. Early Intervention is key and these kids shouldn't have to wait for services they should have had yesterday. It is our mission and our promise that we help special needs children be the best they can be through the right supports and interventions...

We want to turn this into a one stop shoppe for families. To have Support, Literature, Occupational
Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Developmental Pediatrics. Also to have a learning center that works in conjunction with these therapies and others, to help children plug-in with a team approach to provide instruction that is targeted to their specific needs and learning style. We are working hard to raise enough funds to implement all these things that are so desperately needed, if you are interested in donating, lending a hand, spreading the word etc. please contact e-mail jaime@naaofmdes.org
Our Support group meeting are every second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm-til
